Holiday Shine

Northwest Pearls: Holiday Shine Happy New Years Eve! While shopping for a Christmas sweater at Talbots, I came across this skirt. I tried it on and loved it. And best of all, it has pockets! Pockets in a skirt make it so much better.

What's something you'll be wearing for the holidays?

Christmas Classics

Here's another outfit for the holidays. I am loving this skirt and sweater. I probably should have restrained myself from buying them, but they're so pretty! It's perfect for some of the Christmas parties this season! There are a few rows of beading along the neckline, which pair well with pearls. I wore my favorite pearl earrings from National Geographic. Next time I think I'll add a pearl bracelet to the outfit.

Are you excited to dress up for the holidays?

Buffalo Check

They say that if you don't like the Washington weather, just wait five minutes. I've got a pair of rain boots for when the weather is at its worst, as we're supposed to get this week. They're cute, but a little tall for me. Of course, that doesn't stop me from wearing them. But with or without wear, rubber bloom can develop on the boots, as you can see on mine. I showed how I clean off the rubber bloom in this blog post. Northwest Pearls: Buffalo Check

For times when it's a little less wet, I'll exchange my rain boots for my black Frye boots. (They also come in an extended calf boot!)

And while I'm usually pretty bad at remembering to grab a coat unless it's currently raining, I've usually got a thin rain jacket I have in the backseat of my car for when I forget.

Pink and Black

It's a little hard to tell, but my top is a light pink and has lace around the neckline. A friend of mine wore a similar outfit recently which is what inspired me to pair these piece together. Once it gets a little colder, I'll probably ditch the heels for some boots.

Have you had anyone inspire an outfit lately?

Holiday OOTD

I bought this velvet skirt from Kohl's a couple of weeks ago. I love it, but it's not a piece I could wear for just anything. I'm planning on wearing it to a few holiday parties this year and maybe for Christmas. The skirt is from the LC Lauren Conrad Runway Collection. It also comes in blue and black.

I paired it was a loose black top and sweater, but it also works with a tighter top, and I'd like to see how it goes with a crop top like this Topshop top or this Topshop top. The skirt waist is high, and if the crop top is long enough, I think I might like it.

And, the best part about the skirt: it has pockets! Why can't they make every fuller skirt have pockets? Seriously, how hard could that be?

Flirty in Fall

I'm a little cautious about wearing pink in fall, but I love my new skirt from the LC Lauren Conrad Runway Collection. It goes with quite a few things in my wardrobe, and I love its shape. I bought two other skirts from her collection, I'll show you them soon!

Plaid and Khaki

Northwest Pearls: Plaid and Khaki I'm excited to break out the flannel and the plaid for fall. I know, I'm against wishing for the next season over and over each season, but I am looking forward to a few of my favorite wardrobe pieces that I save for the fall and winter. This shirt from Target is one of my favorites, and I love this skirt from the Loft. I'll probably be wearing this outfit around quite a bit.

Housewarming

Northwest Pearls: Navy Stripes and White This past weekend I got to go see some friends' new apartment. They threw a housewarming party and it was great to see where they're now living, how they've decorated, and them! I wish I had my own place to decorate how I'd like but it's fun to see theirs. We've got a similar style. I don't know if their fireplace works or not, but they had candles in the fireplace and it was pretty cute. F

For a housewarming party, if you wanted you could bring a gift. To welcome a friend to a new home you could bring:

  • Wine
  • Flowers
  • A gift basket of fruits or bath accessories
  • A board game
  • A plant
  • Or something else!

Do you have any other housewarming gift ideas?

Yellow, Cream, and Navy OOTD

A few years ago I got a cute plaid pencil skirt, and to go along with it, I bought this shirt from Target. I decided to try pairing it with a new skirt of mine from Marshall's and really liked the look. Northwest Pearls: Yellow, Cream, and Navy OOTD

This skirt is so comfy, I've been wearing it pretty often with 3 or 4 different shirts. And I'm glad I got these heels, they're low, but they do give me a little height; and they're pretty comfy, though they did take some time to break in.

Has there been a piece of clothing you've been wearing a lot lately?
