image While in San Clemente, California earlier this week, we went to the Fisherman's Restaurant and Bar. It sits on the pier over the water. There's outdoor and indoor seating, and of course we chose outdoor.

I ordered the salmon tacos. The view was incredible. I mean, look at it. You're right above the ocean. I could spend hours looking and that view.

They also have a location in Seattle. Have you been to either location? Is there something you recommend ordering?

I ventured down to Vashon Island again to go to Minglement for some loose leaf tea and to ZuZu’s Ice Cream (located in the same location as Minglement) for some ice cream. I decided to get the Mayan Chocolate ice cream and it was probably the best chocolate ice cream I've had in my life.

It was made with coconut milk and had cinnamon and what I believe he said was cardamom.

After that heavenly treat, we went to Thriftway for some coconut chicken curry soup. We get it most times we go to Vashon and this time we took it and went to a public pier to eat it. We sat at a picnic table and when we were about to leave, noticed the stairway going into the water. So with a few minutes to spare before we had to catch our ferry, we took some pictures.

There are a lot of fun things to do on Vashon. Have you ever been out to the island? What have you thought?

Lunch on the Oceanside Pier

Northwest Pearls: Lunch on Oceanside Pier While I was on vacation in Southern California I went down to Oceanside, CA to have lunch at Ruby's on the pier. I ordered a yummy BLTA and onion rings and after eating we took our time walking down the pier, looking at the waves coming in and at the pelicans hanging out.

We also grabbed bubble tea (or boba tea) from Bubble Tea in Oceanside. It's tea with milk and tapioca balls added in. There are different variations on the drink but it's pretty good. I like the tapioca balls but usually can't finish them all. My aunt was obsessed with the drink and was craving it just a couple of hours later.
