Waiting for the Leaves to Turn

Since the weather turned I've been turning (no pun intended) to this skirt and tights. I usually pair it with my Frye Melissa Button boots, but for days when I want to be taller, go with these booties instead. It's funny how we all go through phases of outfits. I have so many clothes but really only wear like five things. Then I'll turn to a completely different five things and wear only those in rotation for a while. Anyone else relate to that problem? Northwest Pearls: Red and Khaki

What have you been wearing a lot of lately?

Lace Overlay

Northwest Pearls: Lace Overlay A few years ago I bought this cute lace dress. My favorite style of dress has a high neckline, is sleeveless or has 3/4 length sleeves, and is about knee length. So this fits it perfectly. Plus it's lace! Something else I love.

And I got it from Costco. Sometimes Costco has some pretty great clothes.

What I really love about this dress is how comfortable it is. It's stretchy; you can move. I'll pair it with flats, tights and boots, or heels depending on the weather and the occasion. I'll also pair it with a pearl necklace instead of my locket if I want to really dress it up.

The clutch is from my grandmother, she used it when she was younger. I really like it and use it pretty often. It's not my everyday bag, but out of my bags, it's probably the second most used one.

Fall Sweaters

It's cozy sweater time! I've just bought a couple more sweaters and have already gotten some use out of them. I love to wear cozy sweaters when the temperature drops. Northwest Pearls: Fall Sweater Collection

I knew that my fall wardrobe is significantly less colorful than my summer wardrobe, but I didn't realize how almost all of my sweaters are pretty neutral until I pulled them all out for this post.

Cranberry and Lace

Northwest Pearls: Cranberry and Lace While shopping at Kohl's the other day, I came across this cute sweater. It has lace attached to the bottom. I love it. I've worn it a couple of times this week. I may go back and get it in the oatmeal color as well.

It's really comfy. However, it is pretty see-through, so you'll almost definitely need something to go under it.

The Start of Fall

Northwest Pearls Well, fall is officially here. Just a few days ago I put away my some of my more summery clothes to make room for some more sweaters and warmer dresses.

Here's a few of my favorite photos from last fall.

I love the changing colors of the leaves and wearing cozy sweaters. I'm sure I'll miss the sun and warmth of summer though.

What do you like about fall?

Cozy Reading

Northwest Pearls: Cozy Reading Off of our kitchen we have two massive armchairs angled a little towards each other and facing the open area of the kitchen. It used to be our breakfast table, but I love having the armchairs there. They're a great place to hang out on while chatting with whoever is in the kitchen and they're nice to read on too.

What I read varies a lot. Sometimes it's crime thrillers, sometimes it's historical romance, sometimes it's biographies. I use the Kindle Unlimited service quite a bit to find books. And my local library has books available to download so I'll sometimes find something to read there.

Fall is Coming

The weather shifted suddenly last week and it no longer feels like summer (even though it is for two more weeks.) We should have two more weeks of summer, but stores have jumped the gun and pumpkin spice things are already out. Did you know that they make pumpkin spice bagels? Well they do, and they also make Apple Pie bagels. Is nothing sacred?!

Northwest Pearls: Bagel Flavors

Can we not just enjoy summer? On July 24th of this summer I was in Michael's and they had all of their Halloween stuff out. On July 24th! And Costco has had children's costumes out for a few weeks.

Okay, I'm done with my rant. I am looking forward to cozy tea by the fire, thick sweaters, and boots. I would just love to not see pumpkin spice bagels until a little later in the month (or never.)

What do you think of everything getting put out earlier than necessary?
