Thai Chicken Soup

Northwest Pearls: Thai Chicken SoupI love Thai food, but I can't go out to eat all the time. When I found this Thai Chicken Soup recipe-that's made in a slow cooker!- I decided to try it. I went out and bought the ingredients I was lacking and made it in our slow cooker.

It was an okay soup, but I wouldn't make it again. I'm not sure if I did something wrong or not, but it was really lacking in flavor. I love slow cookers usually, but I just didn't love this recipe.

What are some slow cooker recipes you like to make?

Araya's Place with Friends

  Northwest Pearls: Araya's Place

My favorite food right now is probably Thai food. The other day we went to a great Thai restaurant we've been to before: Araya's Place. It's a vegan Thai restaurant, and while none of us are vegan, we really enjoy the dishes served.

I ordered my favorite, Panang Curry, but had a taste of my friends' Pumpkin Curry, Asparagus Curry, and Pad Thai. We also ordered the Tom Kah soup to share. All the food was great and I had leftovers for the next day!

What are some places you like to eat in Seattle?

Araya's Place and University District

Some friends and I met up for dinner at Araya's Place, a vegan Thai restaurant in Seattle. I'm not vegan, but the food was really good! One of my friends ordered Tom Kah soup. It has mushrooms and lemon (I think.) I had a small bowl of it.

I ordered Panang Curry with brown rice. A former roommate turned me onto Panang curry and since then I've had a jar of it in my fridge but this was so much better!

And I had enough to take home and eat the next day for lunch!

After dinner two of us went to University Village.

We grabbed drinks at Elemental Pizza; I had a virgin EMP, which was a mojito, and she had what was called a Rain Drop, and was basically a Lemon Drop. Both drinks were great.

Here's my EMP.

And I thought that the sign for the bar was clever.

We walked around, went to Anthropologie, J. Crew, Fran's Chocolates, and so many other places. I love University Village. One of these days when I've got more time (and more spending money) I'm definitely going to go back!

Have you tried any new restaurants lately?
